‘Amélie and Chocolate Éclairs’ tells the story of a grieving mother whose life changes when she crosses paths with Jamal, an orphaned child hiding in a refugee camp in northern France. Amélie is a mother who, after eighteen years, is still grieving the loss of two of her children through tragic accidents. Jamal is a terrified nine-year old boy forced to flee his country when his entire family is killed during a murderous civil war. Now, he hides in a makeshift camp in northern France with Sultana, a woman he met while running away, and Aisha another orphaned child. Fate and an uncompromising bureaucracy means they will need more than luck to bring them together – and luck is in very short supply. But does anybody care? Really care?
