Growing up in an Italian Brooklyn neighbourhood, good-boy Gregory suddenly enters the vortex of the Vietnam 60s, surrounding himself with friends who need to feed a craving for heroin. But when the future seems to hold only prison or an early death, Gregory is jolted into a realization.
