Twenty years have passed since Scheherazade seduced the tyrannical Shaiyar, when she spun her stories for 1001 nights. Now Scheherazade and Shariyar are in Baghdad; as is a monk, travelling from Sicily, clutching a scrap of an ancient tale about a storyteller.
