Not as demanding as its designation for SSAA suggests (since the four-part work is actually a simple two-part canon), this is an intriguing piece which harnesses some of the coruscating effects achieved by minimalist composers - repeated patterns of quavers and cross-rhythms - in an accompaniment which acts as a perfect foil to a regular procession of crotchet chords mainly built on sixths and thirds given out by the voices. * The Organ, November 07 *
