At the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Maritime Greenwich are the four world-class attractions of Royal Museums Greenwich - the National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory and the Queen's House. Designed by architect Inigo Jones, the Queen's House is one of the most important buildings in British architectural history, being the first consciously classical building constructed in the country. It forms the touchstone for Greenwich's royal story, and now serves as an art gallery, displaying a vast selection of artworks from the National Maritime Museum collection, spanning centuries of maritime history.
