Ofelia Santoro rides her bicycle through the decaying streets of Philadelphia, known as "The Badlands". She is looking for her 14-year-old son, Gabriel, who has disappeared. Meanwhile, Gabriel is on the streets, dealing coke, and at the mercy of Diablo, the most dangerous dealer of all.
