Travel & Tour Management is designed for a one semester, undergraduate, tourism management courses. It encompasses a unique coverage of the emerging area of tour management. Travel and tour management, in the real world, is an essential component of virtually all management positions in tourism (either directly or through business contact with travel and tour operators). It is important that every tourism student has a reasonable knowledge of these sectors and how they interact with other sectors. Frost defines a manager as one who makes decisions, irrespective of their title. This view of management is the foundation for the textbook. The author stresses that managers must be aware that things change. Rather than learning how to follow specific processes, students are encouraged to understand how to manage change and take opportunities as they present.
