Kate's cottage is rather crowded: her daughter, Mhairi, fatigued and ill ar ease with her swollen form; Michael, her husband's father, visiting from California; and baby Patrick, who, though yet unborn, already has a personality of his own. While grieving for her dead husband, she is also attracted to her American guest.
