When her brother dies Grace Tooley meets his rich friend Rupert Bradley. Grace gives her heart to Rupert. Rupert doesn't see Grace as belonging to his station and he marries someone else. After the Great War they meet again. Rupert is ready to die, but Grace will not give Rupert up again.
