The Crew Room Book Club

The Crew Rest Book Club. Books bring us stories. Stories bring us together. Together, we build something greater. Reading is one of the few things that makes any flight worthwhile, whether you are on a two-hour turnaround to Amsterdam or a twelve-hour haul to Singapore. But the love of a good book does not retire when you do, and it certainly does not stay at 35,000 feet. The Crew Rest Book Club was created for everyone who has ever been part of the aviation world and who loves to read or write. This is a club for current crew fitting chapters in between sectors, for retired crew who finally have time to get through the pile on the bedside table, and for the writers among us who have lived extraordinary lives and put them into words. If you have a book in you, or already on a shelf, you are as welcome here as anyone picking up their first novel in years. No fixed meeting nights, no pressure to have finished the book, no awkward silences on a video call when someone admits they only got to chapter three. The Crew Rest Book Club runs online, fits around rosters and retirement alike, and connects crew from across the industry who share a love of reading and storytelling. Each month, we choose a book together, share thoughts in our own time, and celebrate the writers in our community alongside the readers. Fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, thrillers, the occasional page-turner that once got passed around the crew room: all of it is welcome here. Current crew, retired crew, published authors, aspiring writers: shorthaul, longhaul, all airlines, all routes, all chapters of the career. If aviation has been part of your life and you love books, you belong here. Join the conversation. Bring a book, or bring your story.
